Cow on the Edge

Back view of a cow leaning over the edge of a steep hill looking into the depths on a night of the full moon. This is an early pastel drawing of an idea I had as a bit of a theme in a group of paintings- to portray an animal in a metaphorical setting that felt representative of a human situation. I think the idea of approaching an edge to peer over it, but not tumble, was very appealing to me, in all the many ways we might do that, though I think at the time I was thinking a lot about ecological destruction. 911 32nd Ave. Seattle, WA 98122 206 941 9663
