Big black furry dog on a beach with fox, eagle and whales in the background. Curie was the second rescue dog and second portrait for clients who had both a West Seattle home and a weekend home on Lopez Island. The first portrait of their dog Osler, was of Osler on the front porch of their house in Seattle, and they wanted Curie's portrait to be set at the vacation home and for it to live there. Being doctors, they named both dogs after scientists they admired. They reqested nearly everything in this painting- the beach scene, the Orcas leaping, the bald eagle, and especially the fox, who would visit and play with Curie when they were on the island.
