Woman and Cockapoo dog flying through the air with crows over a mountain scene. This painting was commissioned by a woman as a gift for her husband. She requested that she and her dog be depicted flying over the Cascades. I added the crows and falling ruby slippers, wanting it to be about freedom, and I wanted the dog to be in the lead. She sat in my studio while I sketched her for the portrait part of the painting, and she held her dog for me in the flying pose for the dog's portrait. This is the only painting that was ever commissioned and then rejected. The husband didn't like it.
