Gunnar Waiting

Write a Review

Pitbull leashed to a newspaper stand on a mauve sidewalk with a bright orange telephone pole and brick wall with windows in the background. When I first started painting dog portraits I was walking around my neighborhood sketching playground toys, mailboxes, fire hydrants, signs, newspaper holders, to use as objects in settings for paintings. I went into a deli in the neighborhood that allowed dogs, and a woman was sitting with her baby and dog enjoying lunch. The dog was Gunnar and he was so peacefully waiting there that I did some sketches of him. I gave the woman the sketches but created the painting just for my own pleasure using some of the images I had collected that day. I still have the painting. 911 32nd Ave. Seattle, WA 98122 206 941 9663
